Eastern Bank holds 33rd AGM, announces 35% dividend

Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has announced a 35% dividend for the year ending 31 December 2024 at its 33rd Annual General Meeting (AGM), held virtually on 21 May 2025. The dividend includes 17.50% in cash and 17.50% in stock, as approved by shareholders during the session.
The AGM was chaired by Md Showkat Ali Chowdhury, Chairman of EBL's Board of Directors. Board members Anis Ahmed, Salina Ali, Gazi Md Shakhawat Hossain, KJS Banu, Zara Namreen, Ruslan Nasir, Mahreen Nasir, Barrister KM Tanjib-ul Alam, and Khondkar Atique-e-Rabbani FCA were present.
Also in attendance were Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director, Md Abdullah Al Mamun FCS, Company Secretary, other senior officials, and a large number of shareholders. All proposed agenda items were unanimously approved.
Shareholders lauded the board and management for EBL's robust financial performance in 2024. They also praised the introduction of Islamic Banking alongside the bank's conventional operations. Despite global economic challenges and domestic uncertainties, shareholders expressed satisfaction with the declared dividend and the bank's forward-looking strategies.
