East West University holds National RoboFest 2026
The East West University Robotics Club organised the East West University National RoboFest 2026, a two-day national technology festival that brought together students, innovators and robotics enthusiasts from universities across Bangladesh.
The festival was held on 28 and 29 June 2026 under the theme "Domination is Destiny". It was supported by the Information and Communication Technology Division of the Government of Bangladesh and featured a prize pool of more than Tk160,000 across six competition segments.
The festival opened with a ceremony attended by Professor Doctor Shams Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of East West University; Air Commodore Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury (retired), Treasurer of East West University; and Professor Doctor Ahmed Wasif Reza, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
At the ceremony, the East West University Robotics Club presented a token of appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor. The guests highlighted the growing importance of robotics, automation and innovation in preparing students for future technological challenges. The opening ceremony ended with a drone show.
The Capture the Flag competition, presented by CYBER BANGLA, began at 11am. Among 149 registered teams, the top 25 qualified for the competition round, with nearly 80 participants taking part.
The gaming segment was held at the Manzur Elahi Auditorium, supported by Zenetic eSports and Global Brand Pvt Ltd. In the E-Football category, the top two players advanced from 111 registered participants, while the two best Valorant teams secured places in the final stage.
The second day featured several competitions across the university campus. The Line Follower Robot competition was held at the university cafeteria, Robo Soccer took place on the basketball ground, and the Project Showcasing competition was organised at the Admission Office.
The closing and prize-giving ceremony began at 4:30pm at the Manzur Elahi Auditorium with a recap of the festival.
Professor Doctor Mohammad Ashik Mosaddek, Pro Vice-Chancellor of East West University, delivered the opening address and presented a commemorative crest to Md Moynul Haque Bhuiyan, Deputy Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Division.
Crests were also presented to representatives of partner organisations, including Education Partner Caretutors, Strategic Partner HBD Services and other supporting organisations, in recognition of their contributions.
Awards were presented to the champion, first runner-up and second runner-up in Capture the Flag, Valorant, Line Follower Robot, Project Showcasing and Robo Soccer. The E-Football competition honoured the champion and first runner-up.
Participation across the festival reflected growing interest in robotics and technology among students. In the Line Follower Robot competition, 41 out of 55 registered teams advanced to the final round. In Project Showcasing, 43 out of 50 teams qualified, while 34 out of 42 registered Robo Soccer teams reached the finals.
The festival concluded with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, followed by a cultural programme attended by participants, volunteers, faculty members and guests.
The organisers thanked participants, sponsors, partners, volunteers, supporters, and media partners for contributing to the event's success. They said East West University National RoboFest would continue to inspire young innovators, promote research and technological excellence, and encourage future generations to contribute to robotics, artificial intelligence and engineering in Bangladesh.
