DNCC holds public hearing with Gulshan, Banani, Baridhara, and Niketan residents

A "Public Hearing and Exchange of Views" session was held on Saturday, 24 May 2025, at 7:00pm at Gulshan Society Lake Park through a joint initiative of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and the societies of Gulshan, Banani, Baridhara, and Niketan.

The session served as a platform for presenting and discussing development plans undertaken by DNCC's Region-3, including initiatives for street lighting upgrades, improvement of playgrounds and parks, enhanced mosquito control to combat dengue, better cleanliness and waste management, waterlogging mitigation, banning of battery-operated rickshaws, and other matters of public interest aimed at improving overall civic services.

Mr Mohammad Ejaz, Hon'ble Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation, presided over the event. The discussion saw the presence of key community leaders including Barrister Omar Sadat, President of Gulshan Society; Mr Shawkat Ali Bhuiyan Dilun, President of Banani Society; Mr Nahid Ul Mostak, Regional Executive Officer of DNCC Region-3; Mr Sakif A. Tabani, President of Baridhara Society; and Professor Dr Md Abul Bashar, President of Niketan Society. The session was moderated by Mr Syed Ahsan Habib, General Secretary of Gulshan Society.

Residents from the four neighbourhoods actively took part in the hearing, voicing their concerns and highlighting pressing local issues. In response, the DNCC Administrator assured the attendees that the city corporation would take necessary steps within its capacity to address their demands and improve service delivery.
