Dhaka Bank marks completion of Smile Asia cleft surgery mission
Dhaka Bank PLC hosted a gala dinner on 22 July to mark Smile Asia's eighth International Friendship Medical Mission in Dhaka.
According to a press release, the bank supported the initiative as its corporate social responsibility partner in collaboration with Smile Asia, SAJIDA Foundation and Shorkari Kormochari Hospital.
Held at Shorkari Kormochari Hospital from 18 to 22 July, the mission brought together medical specialists and other healthcare professionals to conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and perform cleft surgeries on children free of charge.

Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, attended the closing ceremony as chief guest.
At the event, Osman Ershad Faiz, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dhaka Bank PLC; Zahida Fizza Kabir, Chief Executive Officer of SAJIDA Foundation; Abhimanyu Talukdar, Secretary-General of Smile Asia; Mitchel Lee, Chargé d'Affaires at the High Commission of the Republic of Singapore in Dhaka; and Md A Razzaque Sarkar, Director General of Shorkari Kormochari Hospital, spoke.
Osman Ershad Faiz said such partnerships demonstrated the power of collaboration in expanding access to specialised healthcare and transforming lives through compassion and innovation.
He said Dhaka Bank remained committed to supporting initiatives that contributed to community wellbeing and Bangladesh's sustainable development.
He also thanked the chief guest and senior government officials for their presence and support.
Dhaka Bank Deputy Managing Directors Md Mostaque Ahmed, AMM Moyen Uddin, Akhlaqur Rahman, Sheikh Abdul Bakir, SM Abdullah Hil Kafi and Mukarram Hossain Chowdhury attended the event.
Senior government officials, representatives of Smile Asia, SAJIDA Foundation and Shorkari Kormochari Hospital, healthcare professionals and corporate leaders were also present.
The event recognised the contributions of government institutions, international medical professionals, development partners and volunteers involved in the mission.
