City Bank introduces first mastercard world elite card in Bangladesh
City Bank, in partnership with Mastercard, has launched its first credit card under the Mastercard network—the City Bank Mastercard World Elite Credit Card—marking a major milestone in the bank's premium banking portfolio.
The exclusive card is designed for the country's affluent customers and offers lifestyle privileges, personalised services, and extensive global access.
The unveiling ceremony was held at City Bank's head office. Md Mahbubur Rahman, Additional Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of City Bank; Kazi Azizur Rahman, Additional Managing Director and Chief Information Officer; Gautam Agarwal, President of Mastercard South Asia; Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager of Mastercard Bangladesh; and senior officials from both organisations attended the event.

The City Bank Mastercard World Elite Credit Card offers premium privileges with a seamless user experience. Cardholders will receive a Tk10,000 welcome gift voucher and dedicated investment advisory services from City Capital. Benefits include Buy One Get One Free buffet offers at leading five-star hotels such as Sheraton Dhaka, The Westin Dhaka, and Le Méridien, among others. The card provides complimentary international lounge access through LoungeKey, alongside unlimited access to all City Bank lounges.
Members will also enjoy Mastercard's global elite privileges, including complimentary golf green fees, free night stays, and curated dining experiences across the Asia-Pacific region. Cardholders receive a three-month Sands Lifestyle Elite membership at Marina Bay Sands, global data roaming via Flexiroam, Brilliant by Langham Ruby membership, and access to TPC® Golf Gain.
