CIS-BCCI discusses FTA prospects with CIS countries at iftar event
Members and guests from the business community attended the programme, which began with a discussion session on the significance of free trade agreements (FTAs) and their potential impact on trade and investment between Bangladesh and the CIS countries.
Speakers highlighted the need to strengthen bilateral trade relations, expand export opportunities and explore new avenues of economic cooperation. Participants exchanged views on trade facilitation, market access and the role of chambers in promoting international business collaboration. They also discussed challenges and opportunities related to FTA implementation and future trade prospects.
In his remarks, the acting president of CIS-BCCI said the chamber remains committed to promoting trade, investment and business connectivity between Bangladesh and the CIS region. He also thanked members and stakeholders for their suggestions and participation.
The event concluded with a doa, where participants prayed for the country's economic development and the peace and welfare of its people.
An iftar party was later hosted in a cordial atmosphere, allowing networking and strengthening ties among members, guests and business leaders.
Keynote speaker Dr Mostafa Abid Khan, former member of the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission, attended the programme. CIS-BCCI Acting President Jadab Debnath, advisers Mahbub Islam Runu and M S Siddiqui, along with directors and members of the chamber, were also present.
