CaseSpecs 3.0 business case competition ends at KUET
Helio presents CaseSpecs 3.0, co-sponsored by Splash, an inter-university business case competition organised by Spectrum, a professional skill development club at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), concluded on 30 January at KUET's auditorium.
Organisers said the competition aimed to promote teamwork and practical problem-solving, while also challenging common perceptions of how business case competitions are typically structured.
Winners
- Champion: Team "One Man Army" from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) – T. M. Waliullah Turjo
- First runner-up: Team "It Was Expected" from RU-IBA – Hadiuzzaman Nafiz, Nafiz Imtiaz Hemel, Md Jasem Uddin, and Abdur Rahman Rahim
- Second runner-up: Team "Mejbani" from BUP – Farhan Ahmed, Waziha Islam Smyrna, Junayed Islam, and Hasan Reza
Participation and competition format
A total of 327 teams, involving 1,308 participants from 59 universities, took part in the first round, Level 1: The Gateway, submitting online presentations.
From there, 50 teams advanced to Level 2: The Crossway Signal, where they submitted an OVC and a presentation outlining the rationale and thought process behind their OVC.
Finally, eight teams qualified for Level 3: The Boss Battle, where they pitched their solutions to industry professionals.
Prize pool and finalist support
Organisers announced a total prize pool of Tk2.5 lakh. Each of the eight finalist teams received Tk10,000.
Spectrum states this edition introduced several changes, including allowing single-member teams, providing second-round participants with a dummy product to work with, and introducing a theme-based competition format.

The competition was judged by:

- Rashid Anjum Rabby, Area Manager (Barishal Area | South Cluster), Unilever Bangladesh Ltd
- Arnab Rahman, Head of Customer Success, MyAlice
Professor Dr BM Ikramul Haque, Director of Students' Welfare (DSW), KUET, attended as chief guest. Also present at the prize-giving ceremony were Dr Asheif Javed, Spectrum adviser, and Aseif Shahriar, co-moderator.
Organisers said the competition provided participants with opportunities for professional networking and applying academic learning to real-world business challenges.
