Canadian delegation visits AIUB to discuss academic cooperation
A delegation from the High Commission of Canada to Bangladesh visited the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) on 29 September 2025 to explore opportunities for academic collaboration and partnership with Canadian universities.
The delegation was led by Ms Debra Boyce, Counsellor and Senior Trade Commissioner, and Mr Quazi Gulam Farhad, Trade Commissioner. During the visit, they met with the university's senior management, including Mr Ishtiaque Abedin, Founder Member of the Board of Trustees of AIUB and Secretary General of APUB; Prof. Dr Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor; Professor Dr Nisar Ahmed, Treasurer; Group Captain (Retd.) Dr Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan, Registrar; Professor Dr Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-in-Charge, Faculty of Business Administration; and Professor Dr S A M Manzur H Khan, Proctor, among others.
Discussions centred on future academic partnerships, including student exchange programmes, faculty development, and joint research initiatives. Both parties expressed a strong interest in fostering global academic cooperation and creating new avenues for AIUB students to pursue higher education in Canada.
The visit marks a step toward strengthening Bangladesh–Canada educational ties, supporting AIUB's mission to provide world-class education and international exposure for its students.
