BUP honours July Mass Uprising martyrs, their families
Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) marked July Mass Uprising Day 2026 with commemorative programmes honouring the martyrs and highlighting the uprising's place in Bangladesh's national history.
According to a press release, the programmes included essay, poetry and painting competitions, a discussion, a remembrance ceremony, a special prayer and a ceremony honouring the family members of martyred students.
A discussion and remembrance programme was held at BUP's Bijoy Auditorium on Thursday, where participants paid tribute to the martyrs and recalled their sacrifices.
Family members of BUP student martyr Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdha and martyr Zobayer Omar Khan attended the programme as special guests.
BUP Vice-Chancellor Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, BSP, NDC, AFWC, PSC, MPhil, PhD, attended the programme as the chief guest, along with the invited family members of the martyred students.
In his address, he reaffirmed BUP's commitment to fostering patriotism, democratic values, critical thinking, and awareness of the nation's history among students.
Military and civilian officials of BUP, faculty members, and students also attended the programme.
