BUP holds first-ever circuit clash robotics and tech contest
The inaugural edition of Circuit Clash, the flagship robotics and technology event of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), was held on 15–16 November on the university campus, organised by the BUP Robotics Club.
While robotics and STEM-focused national competitions are still developing in Bangladesh, Circuit Clash has established a strong foundation in its first year. The BUP Robotics Club launched the event to give students hands-on exposure to problem-solving, engineering, and emerging technologies.
The competition featured six segments: Robo Soccer; Line Following Robots; CipherSprint (CTF); Project Showcasing; Valorant; and EA FC. Participants were assessed on design, programming, system control, cybersecurity, creativity, and competitive strategy.
This year, Rhythm Group served as Silver Sponsor. GitHub Education joined as STEM Engagement Partner, facilitated by GitHub Campus Expert Raiyan Bin Sarwar, while United Healthcare participated as Health Partner.
The two-day competition drew strong participation from institutions across the country, with teams demonstrating technical depth and originality in both hardware and digital categories. Winners received prizes worth over Tk1.60 lakh, along with crests and certificates.
The closing ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Sufi Md Ataur Rahman, ndc, psc, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at BUP, as chief guest. Special guests included Colonel S M Saiful Islam, SUP, psc; and Colonel Mohammed Omar Faruque, PhD.
Representatives from United Medical College and United Healthcare Services Ltd also spoke, emphasising the importance of robotics and technological literacy for the future workforce.
Circuit Clash 1.0 aims to nurture a generation of students skilled in robotics, cybersecurity, and applied engineering. The BUP Robotics Club plans to expand the platform in the coming years and strengthen national engagement in STEM-driven innovation.
