BUP entrepreneurship club concludes Innoventure Season 1
The BUP Entrepreneurship and Innovation Club (BUPEIC) has concluded the grand finale of Innoventure Season 1, its inaugural flagship business competition, with more than 200 teams from universities across Bangladesh participating.
The finale was held on 9 June, 2026, at the Shadhinota Auditorium of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).
The event was presented by Pubali Bank PLC, powered by Sheltech, and organised in association with Sena Kalyan Sangstha and Raju Law.
Innoventure Season 1 created a national platform for aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators and problem-solvers to present their ideas and compete at a national level.
The competition featured two tracks. The Innovation Track challenged teams to develop strategic and analytically grounded solutions to real-world business problems, while the Venture Track invited participants to turn startup ideas into credible and scalable business ventures.
Brigadier General Mohammad Aminul Akbar Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at BUP and Advisor of BUPEIC, presided over the grand finale as chief guest.
Md Shahnewaz Khan, Deputy Managing Director of Pubali Bank PLC, attended the event as guest of honour.
Associate Professor Dr Ummya Salma, Chairman of the Department of Business Administration in Management Studies; SK Md Anik Hasan Rabby, Co-Advisor of BUPEIC; Assistant Professor Sabrina Sharmin Nishat, Moderator of BUPEIC; and Assistant Professor Sadman Rana Rakin, Co-Moderator of BUPEIC, were also present.
The programme began with an opening address by BUPEIC President Samiul Hossain, who spoke about the club's journey and the idea behind Innoventure, and congratulated the finalists.
Assistant Professor Farzana Tazin later presented tokens of appreciation to the event partners in recognition of their support.
The chief guest and guest of honour praised the finalists for their innovative thinking and commitment to developing solutions for contemporary business challenges.
Crests and souvenirs were also handed over to representatives of the sponsors, as well as the Co-Advisor, Moderator and Co-Moderator of the club.
A total prize pool of Tk3 lakh was distributed across the two tracks — Tk1.75 lakh for the Innovation Track and Tk1.25 lakh for the Venture Track.
In the Venture Track, Team Lannisters from the University of Dhaka became champion. The team members were Md Rayhan, Sabira Umme Habiba and Md Ehasanul Enam Shifat.
Team Sisimpur became first runner-up, while Team Hattimatim finished as second runner-up.
In the Innovation Track, Team Catalyst Crew from Jahangirnagar University became champion. The team members were Nayla Mehjabin, Rifah Tasnia, Fouzia Fatima Nazneen and Afia Hossain Authai.
Team Sudden Impact became first runner-up, while Team Exit Strategy finished as second runner-up.
The grand finale was hosted by two pairs of MCs: Farhan Ahmed and Suramya Soudamini, and Sadman S Azad and Parizad Ali Khan.
BUPEIC said Innoventure Season 1 reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young innovators, strengthening entrepreneurial spirit and contributing to Bangladesh's broader innovation ecosystem.
The BUP Entrepreneurship and Innovation Club works to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset among students by creating opportunities for innovation, leadership development, networking and practical learning.
