BTTF 2025 recognises excellence in tourism and media
Thirteen individuals, including three journalists, have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to Bangladesh's tourism sector at the 13th Biman Bangladesh Travel & Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2025—the country's largest tourism exhibition.
The three-day fair, organised by the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), was inaugurated on Thursday, 30 October, at the Bangladesh–China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka.
The awarded journalists are Masud Rumi, Business Editor, Kaler Kantho; Baten Biplob, Chief News Editor, Asian TV and General Secretary, Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB); and Saifullah Suman, Senior Reporter, Bangladesh Television and Joint Secretary, ATJFB. The prestigious individual award went to Shubhashish Bhowmik.
In the Travel Vlogger Awards, R K Sohan won in the Storytelling category; Jannat – The Lunatic Traveler in Women's Travel; Petuk Couple in Couple & Family Travel; and Just A Minute in Rising Travel Vlogger.
In the Photography Contest, Ridoy won first place, followed by Bipul Ahmed and Tonmoy Das. Shahriar Hossain Shizu won the Video Contest and Sajib Mahmud topped the Story Writing Competition.
This year's fair features over 120 local and international organisations across 220 stalls and 20 pavilions, including tourism boards, airlines, tour operators, hotels, resorts, travel agencies and financial and healthcare institutions.
National tourism boards and associations from Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan are participating, along with tour operators from Maldives, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Turkey and Bangladesh.
Participants are offering special discounts on air tickets, hotel bookings and travel packages. Side events include B2B sessions, seminars, country presentations and cultural performances, with documentary screenings on Bangladesh's tourism destinations.
Entry is Tk50 per person, while students, freedom fighters and July fighters can enter free of charge. The fair remains open daily from 10am to 8pm.
