BRAC Bank joins hands with Robi to boost digital entrepreneurship
BRAC Bank PLC has entered into a strategic partnership with Robi Axiata PLC to expand access to finance for B2B app developers on Robi's BDAPPS platform, advancing Bangladesh's digital innovation ecosystem.
Under the collaboration, BRAC Bank will provide SME digital microloans to emerging developers, helping them scale commercially viable technology solutions and strengthen the country's growing base of digital entrepreneurs.
BDAPPS — the digital application marketplace of Robi Axiata — enables developers and content creators to monetise their innovations through Robi's network-based APIs. The platform currently supports Android and JAVA applications and is expanding to Windows and other operating systems.
The agreement was signed at Robi's corporate office in Dhaka on 29 October 2025 by Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking, BRAC Bank, and Shihab Ahmad, Chief Commercial Officer, Market Operation, Robi Axiata PLC.
The partnership aims to build a catalytic environment for young innovators by combining technology, data-driven insights, and inclusive financing. Alongside credit support, both organisations will jointly develop tailored financial products, launch promotional initiatives, and co-create awareness programmes for BDAPPS developers.
In its pilot phase, the initiative will target financing for around 500 developers, with potential for large-scale expansion in future.
Syed Abdul Momen said, "This partnership will help promising app developers turn ideas into commercially scalable solutions. By combining Robi's tech platform with BRAC Bank's inclusive financing, we are removing capital barriers and opening new pathways for digital entrepreneurship in Bangladesh."
Senior officials from both organisations attended the signing ceremony, including Showkat Kader Chowdhury, Head of Marketing, and Manik Lal Das, Director, Customer Value Solutions, from Robi; and Mohammad Jakirul Islam, Head of SME Strategy, Innovation and New Business, and Indrajit Sur, Head of Medium Business and Supply Chain Finance, from BRAC Bank.
