Biman appoints 84 new ground service assistants
A simple ceremony was held at the head office of Biman Bangladesh Airlines in Balaka on 8 May 2025, where 82 newly selected Ground Service Assistants were presented with their appointment letters.
In response to the widely publicised recruitment advertisement, 54,000 candidates applied. A total of 1,930 candidates passed the written examination, of which 380 were selected for final consideration. From this group, 69 individuals were appointed in the first phase, and 82 individuals received their appointment letters in the second phase. Additionally, 122 candidates have been placed on a waiting list.
Dr Safiqul Rahman, Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, addressed the newly appointed candidates, stating, "Those who have joined this profession should focus primarily on ensuring the safety and service of all esteemed passengers. This is a challenging profession. He also gave important advice on providing satisfactory service to passengers and maintaining the airline's image and the nation's reputation." He urged the new Ground Service Assistants to provide enhanced passenger services at Terminal 3.
Other senior officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines were also present at the ceremony.
It is noteworthy that Biman Bangladesh Airlines has already invested approximately 500 crore Taka in purchasing ground service equipment to provide better service to passengers at Terminal 3. The procurement process for an additional 500 crore Taka worth of equipment is underway. Furthermore, Biman has appointed 304 new staff members across various departments, and the recruitment process for extra staff is ongoing.
