BIDA hosts workshop on investment environment reforms

Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) organised a workshop titled "Progress Review of the Implementation of the Investment Environment Development Programme Reform Action Plan" on 30 December 2024. The event was held in the multipurpose hall of BIDA.

The workshop was graced by Mr. Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman (Senior Secretary) of BIDA, as the chief guest. Mr. Shah Mohammad Mahbub, Executive Member (Investment Environment Services) of BIDA, presided over the session.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Jibon Krishna Saha Roy, Director General of BIDA, while additional remarks came from Dr. Dewan Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Executive Member and Secretary, and Dr. Khandaker Azizul Islam, Executive Member of BIDA. Representatives from various relevant departments also participated, contributing to a robust discussion on reform strategies.

In the wake of the suspension of the World Bank's Doing Business initiative, the workshop focused on improving Bangladesh's business and investment environment through the Bangladesh Investment Climate Improvement Programme. Discussions centred on executing 144 reform proposals across seven key pillars of the programme.
