Bdcrictime receives recognition from Trab in Australia
BDCricTime, a leading sports media platform in Bangladesh, has received recognition from the Television Reporters Unity of Bangladesh (TRAB) in Australia for its sustained contribution to sports journalism.
TRAB presented an honorary memento to BDCricTime Editor-in-Chief Md Jabed Ali, who is currently in Australia covering the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026.
TRAB President Arko Hasan and General Secretary Humayun Kabir Rose attended the ceremony, commending BDCricTime's role in advancing sports journalism in Bangladesh.
Humayun Kabir Rose noted that the outlet has grown in tandem with the rising popularity of cricket and football in Bangladesh.
"BDCricTime has become a trusted platform for millions, earning a special place through objective reporting and robust cricket coverage," he said.
He added that BDCricTime is the first sports-based online portal in Bangladesh to secure official government registration.
Rose also highlighted the brand's expansion via its sister concern, BDSportsTime, noting that founder Jabed Ali's vision now encompasses women's football and other sports.
Reflecting on a journey that began in 2011, Md Jabed Ali expressed gratitude for the recognition, recalling when digital sports media in Bangladesh was in its infancy.
"Observing vibrant cricket communities in Australia and India, we questioned why Bangladesh lacked a similar presence. That inspiration led us to develop digital sports content," he said.
He added, "Since 2015, we have achieved revenue growth and, by the grace of Almighty Allah, reached this milestone."
Jabed Ali further noted that his visit to Darwin last year for the Top End T20 underscored BDCricTime's growing international presence.
"Our expatriates value BDCricTime. When they see our mic cube, they recognise and support us. We have successfully built a bridge with the diaspora," he said.
The event, hosted in Sydney, also included an iftar gathering with journalists covering the AFC Women's Asian Cup. Former Bangladesh national team opener Imrul Kayes attended as a special guest.
Jabed Ali encouraged sports fans to stay engaged with both BDCricTime and BDSportsTime as the platforms continue expanding their multi-sport coverage.
