Bank Asia appoints new Deputy Managing Director
Kayesh Chowdhury has been appointed Deputy Managing Director (DMD) and Zonal Head – Chattogram at Bank Asia PLC, effective 11 March 2026.
Prior to this appointment, Chowdhury served as Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Regional Corporate at Brac Bank. He brings extensive expertise in strategic leadership, governance, credit risk management, and business transformation, with particular focus on the Chattogram Division.
Chowdhury began his banking career in 1993 with UCB, and has since held leadership roles at Dhaka Bank, Bank Asia, Dutch-Bangla Bank, and City Bank. Over the years, he has established a reputation as a disciplined, ethical, and forward-thinking banker with comprehensive knowledge of corporate, commercial, and branch banking operations.
He holds an MCom in Finance from the University of Chittagong and has completed extensive professional training in credit risk, leadership development, international banking, and financial analysis. Chowdhury is widely recognised for his commitment to regulatory compliance, team development, institutional strengthening, and sustainable growth.
Beyond his banking career, Chowdhury is also a singer, lyricist, and essayist. He is actively engaged in cultural and social initiatives, and currently serves as Vice President of Bankers' Club Chattogram.
