Banglalink distributes over 12,000 raincoats among rickshaw, van pullers
Banglalink said it distributed more than 12,000 raincoats to rickshaw and van pullers across 10 city corporations during the monsoon season.
The initiative covered Dhaka, Gazipur, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Rangpur, Bogura, Sylhet, Mymensingh and Rajshahi, according to a press release.
Banglalink said the initiative was designed to address the daily challenges faced by rickshaw and van pullers, who often work through heavy rain to earn a living.
The operator said its responsibility extended beyond expanding connectivity services to supporting communities in difficult circumstances and creating meaningful social impact.
Banglalink Chief Marketing Officer Kazi Mahboob Hassan said, "We often talk about putting people first, and this is what that looks like in practice.
"These workers keep our cities moving, often under the harshest conditions. A raincoat may seem like a small gesture, but it reflects our deep appreciation for their hard work and our commitment to their well-being."
Banglalink said the initiative reflected its broader ambition to promote inclusive growth and advance community welfare across Bangladesh.
The operator added that it remains committed to integrating social responsibility into its operations and ensuring progress benefits every segment of society.
