Bangladesh Commerce Bank holds 2025 Business Review Meeting

Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited (BCBL) held its Business Review Meeting for 2025 on 12 July 2025, at the Bank's Head Office. The event was honoured by the presence of Mr. Md. Ataur Rahman, the esteemed Chairman of the Board of Directors, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Alongside him, Mr. Md. Mohashin Mia, Chairman of the Board Executive Committee, and Mr. Shaikh Ashafuzzaman FCA, Chairman of the Board Audit Committee, attended as special guests. Deputy Managing Directors Mr. Mohammad Ziaul Karim and Mr. Md. Zahirul Alam also lent their presence. The programme was presided over by Mr. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, Managing Director and CEO of the Bank.
The meeting brought together Branch Managers from across all branches, sub-branch in-charges, and zonal heads who participated online, while all department heads from the head office engaged in person. The programme diligently evaluated the progress of all business targets as of June 2025 — including deposits, loans and advances, profit and loss, loan recovery, import/export activities, and remittance — while mapping out a clear outline and action plan to realise the year's objectives.
In his stirring address, Chief Guest Mr. Md. Ataur Rahman called upon all present to take resolute measures to recover bad and defaulted investments. Emphasising the pivotal role of the banking sector as the lifeblood of the nation's economy, he urged all to uphold professionalism with unwavering dedication, reminding that strengthening the banking sector is vital to building the new Bangladesh.
Mr. Md. Mohashin Mia, Chairman of the Board Executive Committee, shared strategic insights and guidelines, underlining that beyond deposit mobilisation, a holistic approach is essential to meet all targets. Chairman of the Board Audit Committee, Mr. Sheikh Ashafuzzaman FCA, reinforced the importance of adopting a precise profit plan, encouraging every stakeholder to pursue goals with focus and discipline.
Managing Director and CEO Mr. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain outlined the necessary strategies to achieve the comprehensive business targets for 2025. He emphasised the importance of delivering exemplary customer service as a cornerstone of success and called on all teams to unite in their efforts to extend banking services to the very doorsteps of customers.
