Al-arafah islami bank expands in noakhali with new sub-branch

Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC. has inaugurated its 88th sub-branch at Maijdee Bazar in Noakhali, further expanding its network to bring modern, Shariah-compliant banking services to the doorstep of rural and semi-urban communities.
Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan, Managing Director (Current Charge) of the bank, formally inaugurated the new sub-branch as the chief guest at a ceremony held on Thursday, 3 July 2025.
Speaking at the event, he said, "Al-Arafah Islami Bank is committed to providing interest-free, Shariah-based banking services aligned with modern financial solutions. Through this sub-branch, residents and businesses in the Maijdee Bazar area will gain access to comprehensive services including deposits, investments, foreign trade, remittance and more. We believe this will significantly contribute to the economic development of the region."
Deputy Managing Director Mohammed Hossain also spoke at the event as a special guest. The programme was presided over by Sylhet Zonal Head Mohammad Azam, while Jalal Ahmed, Executive Vice President and Head of Brand Communications and Marketing Division, conducted the proceedings.
Among the local community leaders, Tajul Islam, former Headmaster of Arun Chandra High School, and Md. Shahadat Hossain, General Secretary of the Maijdee Bazar Business Association, addressed the gathering. The inauguration drew a large turnout from residents, business leaders, journalists and well-wishers.
With this addition, Al-Arafah Islami Bank now operates 226 branches, 88 sub-branches, and 745 agent banking outlets nationwide, making it one of the fastest-growing Islamic banks in Bangladesh.
The bank continues to invest in expanding its footprint to underserved regions, while promoting financial inclusion through Shariah-compliant banking, digital services and rural outreach.
