Presided over by Cumilla Branch Manager Md Faruk Mia, the programme featured discussions among agent outlet owners, branch managers, outlet managers and selected customers on operational challenges, possible solutions, deposit growth strategies and ways to ensure modern banking services.
Participants also discussed the use of Digital Dan Box, Bangla QR, Islamic Wallet, i-Banking and other digital channels introduced by the bank's Digital Banking Division.
Speaking at the event, Md Aminul Islam Bhuiyan said agent banking had created a significant scope to bring underserved and unbanked rural communities under formal banking services.
He said Al-Arafah Islami Bank was working to make these services easier, safer and more efficient through digital banking initiatives. He also urged agents, branch managers and outlet managers to work in a coordinated manner to increase deposits, improve customer service and accelerate financial inclusion.
Customers were briefed on secure transaction practices, including biometric fingerprint authentication at agent outlets, collection of auto-generated transaction receipts and transaction verification through SMS notifications.
Participants were also encouraged to adopt cashless banking services through Bangla QR, Digital Dan Box, Islamic Wallet and i-Banking.
At the end of the event, participants expressed their commitment to strengthening agent banking operations through mutual cooperation and coordination, expanding modern and Shariah-compliant banking services to grassroots communities, and working collectively to implement Bangladesh Bank directives.
