AIUB team shines at ICPC Asia West continental finals
American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) has reaffirmed its standing as a frontrunner in competitive programming, with its student team, AIUB_Modularity, outperforming major regional and international contenders at the ICPC Asia West Continental Finals 2025.
Hosted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at BUBT from 7 to 8 March 2026, the event convened top programming talent from across Asia.
AIUB_Modularity clinched third place among Bangladeshi universities and ranked 35th overall, besting teams from prestigious institutions such as KUET, DU, CU, RUET, JU, and CUET. The team also surpassed all Pakistani teams and 21 Indian teams, including eight from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is recognised as the world's pre-eminent university-level programming competition, challenging students' analytical, algorithmic, and teamwork skills on a global stage. AIUB_Modularity qualified for the Asia West Continental Finals after securing 20th position at the ICPC Dhaka Regional Onsite Contest 2025.
Team members Ahnaf Tanvir Tasin, Shamin Yasser, and Faisal Amin Abir—all BSc in CSE students—credited their result to rigorous preparation and strategic coaching from ACM ICPC trainers Israfil Diganta and Abdullah Al Rawaha Anik. Acknowledgement was also extended to mentors Md Al-Amin and Abhijit Bhowmik for their academic and institutional support.
The ICPC Asia West Continental Finals continue to serve as a critical platform for fostering cross-border collaboration, innovation, and excellence in programming among Asia's leading universities.
