AIUB signs mou with bff as official education partner

The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and the Bangladesh Fencing Federation (BFF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), making AIUB the official education partner of the federation for the next three years.
The signing ceremony took place on August 13, 2025, at the AIUB campus. The MoU was signed by Ms Nadia Anwar, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AIUB, and Major Qamrul Islam (Retd), President of BFF.
The agreement reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the links between sports and education in Bangladesh and is expected to create new opportunities for student engagement, skill development, and the promotion of fencing as a competitive sport.
Distinguished attendees included Professor Dr Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor of AIUB; Professor Dr Manzur H Khan, Proctor of AIUB; Professor Dr Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-in-Charge of the Faculty of Business Administration at AIUB; Kazi Saiful Haque, Treasurer of BFF; Md Abu Jahid Chowdhury, National Coach of BFF; and Md Joynal Abedin, Coordinator of the Office of Sports, AIUB.
Speaking at the ceremony, representatives from both organisations expressed optimism that the partnership will contribute to advancing fencing in Bangladesh while enabling students to gain leadership skills and wider exposure through sporting collaboration.
The MoU also underlines AIUB's ongoing efforts to integrate academic learning with extracurricular activities, while enhancing opportunities for youth development through sports.
