AIUB secures British Council TNE grants for digital manufacturing and AI in education

American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) has secured two prestigious project grants from the British Council under the Transnational Education (TNE) Exploratory Grant programme, in collaboration with two leading universities in the United Kingdom.
In partnership with Birmingham City University (BCU), AIUB will develop an international professional certification programme in digital manufacturing. The project will involve Professor Dr Javaid Butt, Dr Ashikul Khan, and Dr Muhammad Adnan from BCU, alongside Professor Dr Md Abdur Rahman, Professor Dr Md Saniat Rahman Zishan, Dr Chowdhury Akram Hossain, and Mr Mahamudul Hassan from AIUB.
The second project—undertaken in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University (NTU), Jahangirnagar University (JU), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), and other partners—focuses on expanding access to tertiary education for disadvantaged communities in Bangladesh through the use of generative AI. The project team includes Professor David J Brown and Dr Arif Rahman from NTU, Mr Mashiour Rahman from AIUB, Professor Dr Risala Tasin Khan from JU, and Professor Dr Md Rubaiyat Hossain Mondal from BUET, among others.
At the British Council's report launching event, Mr Ishtiaque Abedin, Secretary General of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh and Founder Member of AIUB's Board of Trustees, participated in a panel discussion titled 'Unlocking the Potential and Social Value of Transnational Education in Bangladesh'.
These initiatives underscore AIUB's commitment to advancing educational excellence and global collaboration for addressing national priorities in education and industry.
