Agriculture Advisor visits BADC Headquarters

On 26th October 2024, Agriculture and Home Affairs Advisor, Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.), visited the headquarters of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC). Dr. Nurunnahar Chowdhury NDC, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, BADC Chairman Abdullah Sajjad NDC, and other representatives accompanied him.

During his visit, the Advisor engaged in discussions with BADC officials at all levels, emphasising the vital role of farmers as the backbone of the nation. He highlighted BADC's crucial responsibility in supplying essential agricultural inputs—seeds, fertiliser, and irrigation—and stressed the importance of ensuring uninterrupted support to farmers. Specifically, he urged that the supply of potato seeds remain smooth and called for adherence to financial regulations.

The Advisor also reflected on past student movements against inequality, underscoring the need to eliminate corruption, bribery, and inflation for the country's advancement. He emphasised that public servants, funded by taxpayer money, must prioritise serving the people with integrity.
