ADN Telecom and Telesat partners for next-gen satellite services

ADN Telecom Limited, a leading telecommunications service provider in Bangladesh, has entered into a landmark multi-year partnership with Telesat, one of the world's foremost satellite operators, to deliver cutting-edge Telesat Lightspeed low earth orbit (LEO) connectivity solutions across Bangladesh and South Asia.
The partnership, jointly announced by both organisations, marks a strategic move to advance satellite-based communications in the region. Telesat Lightspeed, the next-generation LEO network, is specifically engineered to meet the critical connectivity demands of enterprise, government, and telecom clients, offering secure, high-capacity, low-latency broadband services.
Under the agreement, Telesat will provide its Lightspeed services along with a Smart Virtual Network Operator (VNO) capability, enabling ADN Telecom to offer tailored, high-performance connectivity solutions to its enterprise, maritime, and government clientele. ADN will also participate in early field trial testing ahead of the service's full rollout, slated for late 2027, with guaranteed service-level agreements (SLAs) and industry-leading information rates.
"We are honoured to be selected by ADN Telecom to provide multi-Gbps connectivity and unique service advantages to enhance their operations and drive profitable, long-term growth," said Glenn Katz, Chief Commercial Officer at Telesat. "Our MEF 3.0 standards-based LEO services will be seamlessly integrated with ADN's terrestrial network to expand the reach of their offerings in Bangladesh and internationally."
Asif Mahmood, Chairman of ADN Telecom Limited, remarked, "Integrating the highly advanced Telesat Lightspeed enterprise-class LEO network capabilities into our leading service offerings is another example of our commitment to delivering innovative technologies to help our customers thrive. After a thorough review of next-generation satellite technologies, we believe the Telesat Lightspeed services will provide the most flexible, secure, and resilient architecture to power our future offerings."
Telesat's fully funded Lightspeed constellation is progressing steadily, with its first satellite launches scheduled for the second half of 2026. The two companies will now work closely to obtain the necessary regulatory approvals to bring Telesat Lightspeed's transformative capabilities to the Bangladeshi market.
This collaboration is expected to redefine the connectivity landscape in the country, especially in remote and underserved areas, ensuring greater inclusion and digital advancement.
