502nd board meeting of DESCO board held

Chief Executive Officer (Secretary) PPPA and Chairman of DESCO Board Muhammad Rafiqul Islam presided over the meeting.

The Managing Director of DESCO, Brigadier General Shamim Ahmed (Retd), was present.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the presentation and approval of DESCO's unaudited 3rd Quarter Financial Statements for the financial year 2024-25. In the last financial year, i.e. 2023-24, the operating loss was Tk 181.12 crore, and the profit was Tk 110.52 crore this year. Due to the well-thought-out, planned guidelines of the Ministry of Power, good morals and the enthusiasm of the DESCO officials, the net loss in the third quarter of last year was Tk 270.82 crore, but this year there has been a loss of only Tk 78.55 crore. If this trend continues, DESCO will turn around in a very short time. Today's board meeting chairman, Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, and all the board members praised and thanked the officers and employees of DESCO.
