134,000 flood-affected farmers in Bangladesh receive crucial aid via bKash

To support and rehabilitate farmers impacted by the last July-August flash flood, the Ministry of Agriculture is disbursing incentives directly to farmers' preferred bKash accounts.
In addition to providing seeds and fertilisers, this incentive will help the affected farmers maintain the continuity of production.
The Ministry of Agriculture has provided a one-thousand-taka incentive to flood-affected farmers through MFS channels. Farmers can receive this incentive in their preferred MFS account. Among them, 1 lakh 34 thousand farmers have chosen to receive the government incentive in their bKash accounts. They can use this incentive through their bKash wallets and cash out from nearby agent points at a reduced charge of Tk 7.
Last year, many farmers in various areas, including Chattogram, Sylhet, Noakhali, and Cumilla, were affected by the flash floods. In 56 upazilas of seven districts, the affected farmers are now receiving government incentives directly into their bKash accounts in the fastest possible time, all from the comfort of their homes.
