Janata Bank officers distribute relief among 250 jobless families in Khulna

Janata Bank Officers under Swadhinata Bankers' Parishad have distributed relief among 250 jobless families at three unions in Fultola upazila of Khulna district, to tackle the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Janata Bank Divisional General Manager Mohammad Humayun Kabir Chowdhury inaugurated the relief distribution ceremony at Khanjahan Ali College ground on Saturday, reads a press release.

Janata Bank Managing Director & CEO Abdus Salam Azad (freedom fighter), the initiator and consultant of the relief programme, jointed the programme virtually.

Abdus Salam Azad, also the chief adviser of Swadhinata Bankers Parishad, said they will continue the relief until the Covid-19 situation is normal in the country.

He also urged the affluent people to come forward as per the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Ashraf-Ul-Alam Bakul, general secretary of Swadhinata Bankers Parishad, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to build a hunger and poverty free Bangladesh as dreamt by Bangabandhu.

"We are trying to assist to the helpless people and it will continue across the country during the Covid-19 pandemic as per the directives of Janata Bank Managing Director & CEO Abdus Salam Azad," he added.

Among others, Acting officer-in-charge of Khanjahan Ali Police Station Prabir Kumar Biswas, Atra Gilatala Union Chairman Sheikh Monirul Islam, Damodar Union Chairman Shiplu Bhuiyan, and Janata Bank officials and Swadhinata Bankers Parishad members were present at the programme.
