BB extends loan rescheduling facility for jute exporters till 31 Dec
The new directive is effective immediately and was issued under the authority provided by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.

The Bangladesh Bank has extended a loan rescheduling facility for raw jute exporters until 31 December 2025, allowing them to reschedule their loans over the next two years with a 2% down payment based on their outstanding loans as of 31 December 2024.
The central bank issued a circular in this regard today (13 October), saying the instructions have been given in response to difficulties faced by exporters in fulfilling the requirements of earlier measures designed to resolve the existing problems within the raw jute export sector.
A senior official of the Bangladesh Bank told The Business Standard that tenure was until September this year, but the central bank extended it till 31 December 2025.
The new directive is effective immediately and was issued under the authority provided by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
The central bank had previously issued a circular on 31 March 2024, which required raw jute exporters to submit their applications for loan rescheduling within six months of that initial circular's issuance date.
