Bangladesh Bank (BB) today asked the Mobile Financial Service (MFS) providers to ensure smooth and uninterrupted transactions for giving the salaries and allowances of all workers and employees of export-oriented industries and factories.

The central bank gave the instruction for giving the salaries and allowances of the workers and employees through their own mobile accounts from the government's stimulus package, according to a BB circular issued
here today.

In a joint statement of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), today requested banks to provide all sorts of supports to the factory owners for giving salaries and allowances of the workers and employees.

They also urged the apparel industry owners, who have not paid yet the salaries and allowance for March, to take immediate measures for paying the
salaries and allowances of their workers and employees.

They also laid emphasis on opening the MFS accounts for the workers and employees soon for giving their salaries through the accounts.
