Banks to remain open on Saturday for nomination fee deposits
Banks across the country will remain open on Saturday (27 December) to facilitate the deposit of security money for submitting nomination papers and the purchase of voter list CDs ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election.
The Bangladesh Bank issued a circular in this regard today (24 December), instructing all scheduled banks to keep their branches open on the day.
According to the circular, candidates will be able to deposit their security money and pay for voter list CDs through bank drafts, pay orders, or treasury challans. To ensure smooth completion of these processes, all branches of scheduled banks will operate on 27 December.
Voter list CDs contain voters' names, parents' names, date of birth, address, etc. It is used by election offices, political parties, candidates or affiliated organisations for voter verification, center-based list preparation and election management.
