Bangladesh delegation visits China to promote investment opportunities

A high-level delegation from Bangladesh has departed for China to promote and facilitate foreign direct investment in the country.
The delegation is led by Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, executive chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) and the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (Beza), reads a press release.
It includes senior officials from Bida and Beza, as well as representatives from the banking sector, including HSBC, Standard Chartered Bangladesh, and Citibank NA.
"We are pleased to have received considerable interest in our visit. We look forward to engaging with Chinese companies and providing them with the information and support they need to invest in Bangladesh," said Ashik Chowdhury before the visit.
The delegation is scheduled to hold a series of engagements in Shanghai and Guangzhou from today (20 July) to Saturday (26 July).
A key event will be a business seminar in Shanghai tomorrow (21 July), jointly organised by Bida and the Embassy of Bangladesh in China.
More than 100 Chinese investors and companies from sectors such as electronics, textiles, agribusiness, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices are expected to attend.
The visit is part of Bangladesh's continued efforts to attract global investors and promote investment opportunities through dialogue and partnership.
