Singaporean Air8 to provide export financing service in textile sector with Bangladesh Garments

In a strategic move to strengthen financial access for the textile and garment sector, the Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Air8, a cross-border supply chain finance platform. The partnership aims to enhance export financing and working capital solutions for Bangladeshi textile exporters, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The MoU was signed on 26 May 2025 at the BGBA office in Dhaka, with the presence of key BGBA committee members and Air8 representatives. The collaboration is expected to deliver technology-driven financial tools and global trade insights to help members manage capital more efficiently and navigate supply chain challenges.
"We are excited to partner with Air8 to bring innovative financial solutions and add value to our members," said Md. Mofazzal Hosen Pabel, President of BGBA. "In times of economic uncertainty, reliable financing and expert insights are vital for sustained growth. This MoU opens new doors for our members."
Alvin Ho, President of Air8, expressed optimism about the future impact of the partnership:
"Encouraging the adoption of tech-based export financing for SMEs will strengthen the industry. Our collaboration with BGBA will empower exporters with the capital and insights they need to grow sustainably."
Founded as a nonprofit, self-regulating trade body, BGBA plays a vital role in driving the development of Bangladesh's ready-made garment (RMG) industry. By linking members with cutting-edge financial technologies, BGBA aims to expand international trade and foster a resilient textile supply chain.
With this MoU, BGBA and Air8 envision a future where textile exporters in Bangladesh are better equipped to compete globally, access affordable financing, and innovate in a challenging economic landscape.
