Under the overall administrative supervision of the Armed Forces and with the support of the Department of Health, the proposed Covid-19 Isolation Centre or Hospital at Mohakhali DNCC Market in the capital started test for expatriates from Monday.

The activities are being conducted by setting up 20 booths with separate ones for senior citizens, women and foreign nationals.

Every day from 10am to 4pm, samples will be collected 72 hours before departure and reports will be provided within 24 hours.

Overseas passengers will be able to collect their reports from 2pm to 5pm the day after the sample is submitted.

Sample collection booths will also be open during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha holidays, reads a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations.

Collected samples will be tested in the Institute of Public Health, the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine, and the National Institute of Laboratory Medicine and Referral Centre.

The government has fixed Tk3,535 for the sample test fee. Samples of approximately 1,000 foreign passengers will be collected daily in the established booths.

It may be mentioned that under the overall supervision of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, work is underway to set up the facility, which will be launched as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, the press release adds.
