Take steps to disinfect vehicles: Jatri Kalyan Samity

Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity has requested the authorities concerned to spray disinfectant (water mixed with bleaching powder) on roads and vehicles to contain the transmission of the novel coronavirus.

The organisation's Secretary General Mozammel Haque Chowdhury made the request to the city corporations, the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA), municipalities and union parishads in a press statement issued on Wednesday.

He also requested the authorities concerned to make arrangements for washing hands with soap at important stops of every road and highway in the country every day.

Pointing out that people's movement on roads is increasing, he said that if the vehicles are not made safe in such a situation it will be difficult to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus.
