Shakib Al Hasan’s father tests positive for Covid-19

Mashrur Reza Kutil, father of cricketer Shakib Al Hasan, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is now in isolation in their Keshopur house.

He works as an official for the Bangladesh Krishi Bank in Magura.

Magura Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Abdus Salam confirmed the matter to The Business Standard on Sunday, adding that they had placed the house under lockdown after the Covid-19 report came back positive.

But his condition is stable, the doctor added.

On Sunday, a total of eight people including Shakib's father were detected with the coronavirus in Magura.

So far, a total of 307 people have been affected by the virus in the district, of whom 160 have recovered and 120 are in home isolation. So far, seven people in Magura have died from the coronavirus.

Five people in the district recovered and eight others were admitted to the hospital on Sunday.
