HC asks 12 private hospitals in Ctg to treat Covid-19 patients

The High Court has directed 12 private hospitals in Chattogram to provide full treatment to the patients with Covid-19. 

Justice JBM Hasan passed the order in a virtual hearing on a writ petition on Monday. 

The judge asked authorities of 12 hospitals and the district civil surgeon to comply with the order.

The hospitals are -- Max Hospital, Metropolitan Hospital, Esperanto Hospital, Parkview Hospital, Medical Center, Surgeoscope Hospital, Delta Hospital, CSTC Hospital, CSCR Hospital, National Hospital, Well Hospital and Asian Hospital.

Earlier on June 10, lawyers Saiful Islam and Azizul Hoque filed the writ the High Court in a bid to ensure treatment for the Covid-19 patients in the port city. The writ was moved by the Supreme Court lawyer Md Bakir Uddin Bhuiyan.

Lawyer Bakir Uddin Bhuiyan told The Business Standard, "People are dying without treatment. The writ petition was filed before the High Court seeking directives for proper treatment of the sick people."
