The country's one of the leading conglomerates BSRM Group has extended its efforts to provide necessary supports for the virus-hit people across the country during this pandemic time.

To this respect, BSRM recently donated an amount of money to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund to fight against the pandemic, said a media statement on Wednesday.

Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, principal secretary to Prime Minister, received the donation cheque.

Apart from this, the employees of the business group contributed their one-day salary to the group's fund which was raised for helping the marginalised people during this time.

The company implemented three relief programmes with this amount.

Chottogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman received a cheque from this amount to stand beside more than 2500 families in the port city.

BSRM also handed over another cheque to the Chattogram District Commissioner Office for extending their relief efforts. Mohammad Kamal Hossain, additional deputy commissioner (general), received the cheque.

The group handed over another cheque to SM Rashidul Hoque, superintendent of police of Chattogram district for helping another group of poor and helpless.

Besides, BSRM is continuously providing high quality personal protective equipment (PPE) for the medical staff of many hospitals in Dhaka and Chittagong divisions.

As a part of the programme, a substantial number of PPE were handed over to Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam for distributing those to some hospitals.

BSRM believes in standing beside people who are the worst-hit during the Covid-19 crisis and is committed continuing these humanitarian drives, the media statement said.
