Another doctor dies of Covid-19 in Chattogram

Professor (retd) Dr Lalit Kumar Dutta has died from the novel coronavirus in Chattogram.

Dr Lalit Kumar Dutta, 77, was an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

"He breathed his last at around 12.45am on Sunday night while undergoing treatment at Chattogram General Hospital," Abdur Rob, a senior consultant of Department of Medicine at Chattogram General Hospital said.

"He was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital as his health condition worsened," Abdur Rob further said.

Lalit Kumar Dutta was admitted to the hospital after infected with Covid-19 on Saturday, he added.

Dr Lalit was a resident of South Nalapara in the city.

In the last 24 hours, 192 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Chattogram.

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram said, "1,049 samples were tested in the last 24 hours of these, 192 found coronavirus positive."

So far 6,680 people have been infected with coronavirus in Chattogram.
