Rupayan Group, IICCI hosts reception for Indian High Commissioner

Rupayan Group and Indian Importers Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) held a reception for Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswami at Hotel Westin in the capital on Sunday evening.

Mahir Ali Khan Ratul, vice chairman of Rupayan Group, said on the occasion that the two countries had a long history of friendly relations, said a press release. 

He also thanked India for its assistance to Bangladesh in coping with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and supported the Indian high commissioner's call for further strengthening the trade relations between the two countries.

Vikram Kumar Doraiswami said, "The friendship between India and Bangladesh needs to be strengthened further by enhancing mutual cooperation between the businessmen of the two countries." 

He further said the two countries had taken many initiatives jointly to celebrate the 'Mujib Year,' the birth centenary of Bangabandhu, and the 50 years of Bangladesh's Independence and Bangladesh-India diplomatic relations. 

Liaquat Ali Khan Mukul, chairman of Rupayan Group, Atul Kumar Saxena, president of IICCI, Syed Shamim Reza, managing director of Imperial Group and vice president of IICCI, TK Pandey, director of IICCI, Ali Akbar Khan Ratan, vice chairman of Rupayan Group, Harun Ur Rashid, chairman of Asian TV, Sadat Hossain Selim, Rupayan Group advisor, Advisor Abdul Gaffar, and Brigadier General (Retd) Abul Kalam Azad, Rupayan Land Department managing director, were present at the programme.
