Paradise Cables factory workers agitate for 14 months’ salaries in Narayanganj
Five brothers are involved in a dispute over the ownership of the factory for a long time now

Workers of Paradise Cables Ltd took to the street on Sunday afternoon, demanding that their 14 months' salaries be paid.
More than 200 workers protested in front of the factory in Fatullah, Narayanganj.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Fatullah police station Afzal Hossain told The Business Standard, "Five brothers own the Paradise Cables. They are involved in a dispute over the ownership of the factory for a long time now."
One of the brothers, Mosharof Hossain was in-charge of the factory, said the OC.

OC Afzal further said he tried to resolve the issue of workers' salaries by holding meetings with the owners. But it was not possible to contact them as they live in Dhaka.
"I told the workers to file a case, but they are not doing that either. I could have brought the factory owners under the law to pay the workers' due salaries if they had filed a case," said OC Afzal.
"The workers are staging protests without any solution for many months now. Police cannot let them block roads like that," he added.
