Milvik and bKash get together for affordable health service

Milvik Bangladesh Ltd, a mobile phone-based health and insurance services provider, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with bKash Ltd on Wednesday with the aim to increase accessibility to low-cost insurance and health services.

"Launching two new products, Life and Health, along with the beginning of a partnership with bKash feels very exciting," said Gustaf Agartson, CEO of Milvik (Bima) Bangladesh, while adding that through the introduction of new payment channels and enhanced services, Milvik can serve more people in Bangladesh while reducing the burden of unexpected health costs.

Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the state minister for Information and Communication Technology, said, "We are committed to develop a healthcare financing in the country that reduces health expenses as part of our healthcare financing strategy."

Kamal Quadir, CEO at the bKash Ltd, said: we are excited as we formed a partnership with Milvik, while expressing his hope for creating an environment in which every Bangladeshi with a bKash wallet can get access to affordable insurance and healthcare services.

Clients of Milvik Bangladesh Ltd can now sign up for the company's healthcare services (for health check-ups, for instance) through bKash account that requires no paperwork; the company's clients can now register for Life and Health, Milvik's two recently launched products, directly through their bKash wallet.
