Islamic Relief provides food support to 2000 Rohingya families in Bhashan Char
UK based organisation Islamic Relief started its operation in Bangladesh in 1991
Islamic Relief Bangladesh has provided essential food support to 2000 Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) families in Bhashan Char.
The programme was launched at Bhashan Char Camp on 7 February 2021 by distributing food packs among 468 families, said a press release.
Camp In-Charge Bhashan Char Mohammad Wasiqul Islam, Assistant Camp In-Charge Amit Kumar Saha and Abdus Sobur, representatives from Islamic Relief Iqbal Hossailn, Jafar Alam, Safiul Azam and Riaj Uddin were present at this event.

Rice, Chickpea, Soyabean oil, salt, sugar, onion, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and dry fish were the food stuff in the pack.
Country Director of Islamic Relief Bangladesh Akmal Shareef said, "Islamic Relief always provides humanitarian support to the vulnerable people. We are delighted to extend our support to the families of Bhasahan Char along with the Bangladesh government. Initially we are providing food packs to 2000 families for six months."
UK based organisation Islamic Relief started its operation in Bangladesh in 1991 immediately after a devastating cyclone and provided emergency support to the cyclone affected people. Presently it has been implementing various programmes across 38 districts in Bangladesh.
