Online marketplace Bikroy and electronics manufacturer Minister Hi-Tech Park have jointly launched a campaign titled "Bikroy Birat Haat Powered by Minister" to popularise buying and selling cattle on Bikroy.com.

The Bikroy and the Minister Hi-Tech Park signed a memorandum of understanding at a webinar on Tuesday.

Like every year, the Bikroy is showcasing cattle for its customers ahead of the Eid-Ul-Adha this year too. More than 1,000 ads for selling sacrificial animals have been posted on the Bikroy website already.

To boost the online cattle market, Bikroy and Minister have organised a contest. People can participate in it to win electronic home appliances worth Tk6 lakh from the Minister Hi-Tech Park.

Twenty-two people will be elected winners in the contest.

To win, the contestants have to create a video with the Bikroy's special Eid-ul-Adha song and post it with hash tag "#BiratHaat2020" on Facebook, TikTok or Youtube. Makers of the most-liked and -viewed videos will be the winners.

Eshita Sharmin, co-managing director of Bikroy, said, "The Bikroy website has been giving an option to buy cattle online for a few years. Considering the novel coronavirus situation, we are putting special emphasis on buying and selling cattle online this year."
