Bangladesh will move forward with active participation of youths in various activities including policy issues, Youth and Sports Affairs Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain said today (20 May).

"If we look at world history, youths contributed a lot to landmark change of courses and destiny of every country while they specially played a significant role for every historic change in our country," he told a youth rally in Savar.

Bhuiyan, also in charge of the local government ministry, said that youths' desired for a qualitative change in the country during the July uprising so Bangladesh could project itself as a dignified nation before the world community instead of regime change alone.

The government has taken various programmes and activities for the development of the youth community.

Director General of the institute Dr Moha Bashirul Alam chaired the rally, joined as well by secretary of the ministry Md Mahbub ul Alam, joint secretary Kazi Mushtaq Zahir and director general of the directorate of youth development Dr Gazi Md Saifuzzaman as special guests.
