Worker dies after being crushed by cotton bale at Ctg factory

A worker was killed after being crushed by a cotton bale at a factory of Infinia Knit Composite in Chattogram's Sitakunda.
The incident occurred around 1:30pm yesterday at the factory in Kadamrasul area. The deceased, Nur Mohammad Sujan (22), was the son of Masum Mia from the same area.
Eyewitnesses said Sujan was severely injured when a cotton bale fell on him while unloading from a container. Colleagues rushed him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where doctors advised admitting him to the ICU. However, as no ICU beds were available there, he was shifted to a nearby private hospital.

Chattogram Industrial Police Superintendent Abdullah Al Mahmud told The Business Standard that Sujan died in the ICU of the private hospital later in the afternoon.
He added that legal steps are being taken over the incident.
