As of now, at least 23 people have reportedly been injured -- many with amputated limbs -- due to landmine explosions along the border since January this year.

A woman lost her left leg in a landmine explosion along the Naikhongchhari border in Bandarban today (4 August).
The victim, Lucky Sing, 24, is the daughter of Sumong Karbari from Gachh Buniya village under Sonaichhari union of Naikhongchhari upazila.
Naikhongchhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mazharul Islam Chowdhury said the explosion occurred between border pillars 42 and 43 in the Ghumdhum union area.
Quoting locals, the UNO said the incident occurred while she was collecting bamboo shoots (Bash Korol) near the Myanmar border. The blast severed her left leg.
Locals rushed her to the MSF Hospital in Kutupalong, Ukhiya, where she received initial treatment. She was later transferred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for advanced care.
