Woman gives birth at Jashore railway station, rescued and hospitalised after call to 999

A woman gave birth on the Rupdia Railway Station platform, under Kotwali Police Station in Jashore, amid heavy rainfall in the early hours of Tuesday (3 June).
Station Master Babul Akhter called the national emergency number '999' to report the incident which took place at around 3:45am, according to a media release signed by Police Inspector Anwar Sattar, media and public relations officer of the National Emergency Service 999.
Babul urgently requested an ambulance to save the lives of the mother and newborn.
Constable Din Islam, who answered the call, informed the Jashore Kotwali Police Station and the Fire Service Station to take swift action.
Upon receiving information, a team arrived at the railway station.
The mother and her newborn son were rescued and taken by an ambulance to the Jashore district hospital.
