Will protect national interest to last penny, ensure balanced relations with all: FM Khalil
Responding to a question on his role, the minister said, “Of course, it is challenging. At the same time, it is important and significant. Our goal is to build a foreign policy that reflects the will and aspirations of the people of Bangladesh.”
Newly appointed Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman has described his new responsibility as challenging, pledging to safeguard Bangladesh's national interests "to the last penny" while maintaining balanced relations with all.
Speaking to reporters this evening (18 February) at the State Guest House, Padma, he said, "We are committed to implementing a responsible and courageous foreign policy that protects the country's interests and maintains good relations with everyone. We will protect our national interest to the last penny."

He also addressed criticism over taking up a role in a political government after serving in an important position in the interim administration, saying his commitment remains centred on national interest and public service.
